Michael Rzeznik is the Managing Director of the New York Tri-State Regional Office of Aon Fire Protection Engineering (formerly Schirmer Engineering).  Mike is a licensed fire protection engineer in several states, holds a Masters Degree in Fire Protection Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and has over 20 years experience exclusively in the fire protection engineering industry.
Mr. Rzeznik’s broad range of experience includes automatic sprinkler, special suppression, and fire alarm and detection system design and evaluation services.  He also has extensive experience in the area of life safety, accessibility and building code consulting, and has participated in the development of performance based design solutions through the use of computer fire and smoke modeling applications.

Mike has experience includes a wide range of occupancy types, including health care, hospitality, mixed use, detection and correctional, cultural, storage, industrial and higher education facilities, among others.  Mike has worked on projects throughout the United States, and throughout the world, with project experience in Switzerland, Mexico, Germany, and Dubai.

Mike is a member of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE), as well as the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), where has served on a number of standard committees.  In addition to his work on NFPA standard committees, Mr. Rzeznik has also contributed to the development of internal fire protection and life safety standards for a major international hotel chain, as well as a to the New York City Department of Buildings World Trade Center Building Code Task Force Evacuation Chapter as a guest contributor, and a member of the New York City Fire Code Advisory Committee.


Thomas F. Norton

Thomas Norton is the founder and CEO of Norel Service Company, Inc., a Waltham, Massachusetts based Engineered Systems Distributor, supplying fire alarm, security products and central station monitoring in New England for over 40 years.
Tom is very active in industry committees and associations including:
• Member of the Board of Directors for the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).
• Member of NFPA Fire Alarm Technical Correlating Committee which oversees NFPA 72, and NFPA 720.
• Member of the Fundamentals of Signaling Chapter of NFPA 72, The National Fire Alarm Code.
• Chairman of NFPA 720, Standard for the Installation of Carbon Monoxide (CO) Warning Equipment in Dwelling Units.
• Member of NFPA 25, The Inspection, testing, and maintenance of water based fire protection systems.

• Member of NFPA 909 for the Protection of Cultural Resources Committee.
• Member of the  ASME A-17 Emergency Operations Committee
• Member of the Codes and Standards Committee for The Center for Campus Fire Safety
• Past chairman of the board for the Automatic Fire Alarm Association, and the past president of the New England AFAA. 
• Member of the New England Chapter of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers
• Past President of the National International Municipal Signal Association (IMSA) and Section Member of the New England chapter.  He is also the IMSA Delegate to the Joint Council of National Fire Service Organizations, 1983-1988
• He participates in the Building Owners and Managers Assoc. (BOMA), Boston Chapter, and is a member of the National Association of Industrial & Office Properties (NAIOP).

Tom is also Chairman of the Board of the Massachusetts Hospital School, holds an Associate Degree in Fire Science Engineering and is a licensed Master Electrician, and licensed Sprinkler Contractor.


 

James A. Rose
Director of Operations

Jim Rose is the Director of Product Management for en-Gauge Inc., the manufacturer of en-Gauge, the UL Listed Fire Extinguisher Gauge that electronically monitors fire extinguishers.

Jim has been working in the fire protection industry since 1990 and previously worked for Xtralis (formally known as Vision Systems, Vision Systems-VESDA,  Vision Fire & Security and IEI North America) from 1990 to 2004. He was the Operations and Engineering Support Manager for the VESDA (smoke detection) and the ADPRO (cctv remote security) product lines. Jim is a graduate of Northeastern University in Boston.

In addition to Jim's technical and engineering skills he is experienced in providing quality service and support for manufacturers, distributors, specifying engineers.

 


  

Adrian Lloyd

Adrian Lloyd is General Manager with Micropack Detection (Americas) Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Micropack Engineering Ltd. Adrian has over 30 years experience in fire detection industry. He started out designing fire and gas detection systems for the North Sea Oil and Gas Industry. He was then transferred to Houston, Texas in 1979 to work on Gulf of Mexico oil installations and the emerging offshore oil production projects in Mexico and Brazil. From 1983 to 1996 Adrian was the Gulf Coast regional manager for Detector Electronics Corporation, one of the major manufacturers of industrial flame detectors. He then went to work for a Norwegian company who supplies fire detection to many of the worlds major cruise ships.

Adrian moved to Fort Collins Colorado in 2000, with his wife and 2 teenage daughters, and for 4 years was National Sales Manager for Vision Systems, the Australian manufacturer of VESDA air sampling smoke detection technology.

Joining Micropack, who are based in Aberdeen Scotland, brings Adrian full circle, back to where he started, working with flame detection technology for the oil and gas production industries.
